Sauces
|
Bister has a long track record of mustard and piccalilli production but decided several years back to branch out into seasonings and sauces.
Time-honoured sauces such as mayonnaise, cocktail, tartar, béarnaise and andalouse joined the Bister stable of products in the early years of the 21st century.
The autumn of 2006 will be marked by the appearance of a Sauce for Children, called Trempette & Tartinade.
A medley of organic sauces is in the pipeline for 2007. |
|
Béarnaise
Served cold or hot (reheat it carefully in a double boiler or in the microwave oven on a low heat). Our béarnaise has the precise amount estragon to appeal to most palates.
You may add cream, butter or more estragon, according to your taste. Tomato puree may be incorporated to produce a Choron sauce.
Shops tend to stock it more during the barbecue or fondues-raclettes seasons, in three or four sauce combination packs. |
|
|
Cocktail
Prepared according to the traditional method, this sauce is made from cognac added to deluxe mayonnaise.
This well-balance sauce is perfect for all your fish and seafood dishes.

Tartar
Tasty Bister tartar sauce owes its special quality to the addition of pieces of crisp vegetables: carrots, onions and capers, pepped up with a dash of lemon juice.
Ideally served with fish, fried dishes or recipes calling for breadcrumbs, scampi and langoustine fritters.
As with our other cold sauces, this item is often available during special promotional campaigns in major stores, presented in 100 ml 4-jar sampler sets (various flavours).

Andalouse
With the slightly tangy taste only to be expected from an andalouse, this sauce is traditionally served with plates of chips and assorted cold meats.

Trempette & Tartinade
Trempette & Tartinade is a cold sauce made by children for children but relished by adults as well ! It can be kept in the refrigerator. With its hint of a tomato flavour, this delicately spiced and creamy sauce is ideal for "dipping" raw carrots, pieces of cauliflower, crisps, nachos, cocktails sausages, etc.
Delicious spread on sandwiches filled with ham, gouda cheese, minced meat, roast beef, sausage…
It is served on a dish, with chips and potatoes, hard eggs and omelettes, roasted pork and pork chops, steaks, chicken, fish fingers, etc.
