Cédric has his mustard.
The Bister mustard factory announced in early 2002 its signing of a licensing agreement with the Editions Dupuis publishing company. This will go down in the annals as the first agreement of this kind for the company!
This agreement involved two new developments
1.Glasses decorated with the image of Cédric, accompanied by his friend Chen. These 20 cl glasses feature three Bister products:
- a standard Dijon mustard
- a Piccalilli that is milder and less spicy than the one sold in "grenade-shaped" jars
- Cédric pink Mustard
2. Cédric pink Mustard is the outcome of challenge Dupuis made to Bister in October 2001: developing mustard that appeals to children in the 6 to 12 year old age group, who are known to dislike sharp tasting seasonings.
It took Bister six months to come up with the Cédric mustard… pink-coloured mustard ! This tomato-based mustard is creamier than the standard variety. Its highly distinctive taste is somewhere between mustard, cocktail sauce, ketchup and mayonnaise. A very "Cédric"-like taste. But watch out, it is still a mustard so it is hot even though not as hot as regular mustard.
Several decorations have appeared one after another since 2002, and the licence covers the Belgian and French markets.
The Cédric glasses are quite prominent in the Belgian Carrefour stores, certain Auchan stores in Northern France, Match supermarkets in Belgium, and in several regional stores.
We regularly propose special offers to French and Belgian chain stores, particularly duo packs or tri packs with small Cédric gifts given away for free (stickers, Panini sealed packs, erasers, etc)
