BRC certification
Bister goes back a long way
The 2 Bister factors were awarded Fedis Food Certification (BRC light) in March 2006, to confirm that Bister complies with food safety and traceability requirements more stringent than the statutory ones (HACCP).
The AFNOR group site
(www.afnor.org) examines this certification in detail:
Created in 1998, in the midst of a raging food safety controversy, the BRC certification is a British gold standard for companies provided food products on a distributor's brand basis. The aim is to help distributors in their efforts to meet their statutory obligations and their need to guarantee consumer protection. This has been available in a French version since 2002.
The BRC requires :
-
the creation of a HACCP system
-
an effective and documented management system
-
compliance with corporate environment, product, process and staff-related requirements
